ILA Best Practices

As a district library serving three towns, we look for ways to keep our local legislators informed and aware of the value of library services. Last fall, we invited the three mayors and our state and national representatives to attend a program and speak about freedom. We took their photos and made READ posters using the ALA CD.

Each of our elected officials received their framed READ poster, delivered personally by board members, providing an additional opportunity to interact with the official.
The program was very effective in creating good will and personal connections. Submitted by Chirstine E. Cigler, Indian Prairie Public Library
